I just need to say that, in regards to being female, having a period every month is the suckiest thing on the planet. Men, in contrast, get to pee standing up. How convenient, how UNFAIR.

When I was younger, in was merely an inconvenience, mostly just "gross" because, as a teen in the 80's, "gross" was the WORD. But since having Indy, 7 yrs. ago, I get the BONUS of cramps each month. Not just mild achey ones, but in-league-with-the-devil cramps. Justifiable homocide ones. It makes me whiney, uncreative, pathetic, unable to work, and honestly, even move.

Does anyone else deal with these and HOW? What do you do for relief? I take as much OTC pain relief as I can, but for about 24-36 hours I am miserable and I can be quoted as saying "just shoot me" to my husband at least a dozen times.

a heating pad will do wonders, but they are still a b***h! Believe me, I know...I thought that labor was easy because you actually got a break in between the cramps/contractions!

AMEN!
I would like to see any man in the world survive one week of menstruation, and one week of each trimester of pregnancy. They'd never make it, but can still somehow be impatient with us in these same situations.

Had periods like this for years. I used to use the Lamaze (sp?) method of breathing and counting to get through the worst cramps. Really worked for me.
Heating pad is good too.
I'm a lot older now and they aren't so bad.

Hugs girl. I feel ya. After my 3rd one I got atrocious cramps too. Everything has been messed up since then. Actually my time AFTER my period is even worse than DURING! I take motrin daily for pain. It does not help.

Trust me ... when the time comes that they stop ... I am 50 ... You'll miss them. They have been a part of my Life as long as I can remember ... They remind me that I am part of something much larger. So very sad to see them go ...
